Packing List for Training Camp
The
accommodations at training camp are somewhat primitive. Be prepared for any
weather ‐ hot afternoons, cold nights, rain, sleet, ‐ ANYTHING! Though you may
think I'm exaggerating, one camp it started at 80 degrees and then dropped to
below freezing. Be prepared! You will be properly equipped if you follow your
packing list. Be sure you have these items:
· Tent (A 2-person, free-standing tent is best.)
· All sleeping stuff including a sleeping bag.
· Clothes for the whole time (1 semi casual outfit)...mostly outdoor
activities. AIM dress code applies. Some may be ruined by our pretty Southern
Dirt... FYI. Semi casual would be nice jeans and a nice shirt.
· Shoes... we recommend bringing the shoes you think you want to wear
on the Immersion trip. This could include flip flops (for the shower), Chacos
or Tevas (for a rugged sandal), and an athletic shoe (for more active wear or
when you need closed‐toed shoes). Keep in mind that our Red Dirt will not leave
anything white!
· Water bottle
· Mug if you want hot drinks.
· Towel and shower stuff
· Basic First Aid kit including Mosquito Spray, medicine for stomach
issues, headaches, allergies including seasonal, bug bites, or nature‐caused,
band‐aids, anti‐bacterial wipes and ointment, sunscreen, and aloe vera.
· Headlamp to make your way through the Darkness
· Bible, Journal, and Pens.... this is a must for processing!
· Spending money for possible meals out, fun times with your team,
or items to purchase at camp
· Laptop for note taking and blogging wouldn't be an awful thing to
have, but is not absolutely necessary
We
ask that you bring a backpack to Training Camp. If you want to wait until after
Training Camp to purchase a backpack, please borrow a backpack from someone
else to use during camp.
