My great God experience did not happen to me at lake Geneva bible camp where I felt Gods presence so many times. It happened on a run!!

 

It was a week before conference for cross country and I went on a run to clear my mind. It was raining outside but in cross country that is known as the perfect running weather. About 5 miles I was feeling really bad and I remembered that I did not have anything to drink or eat that day. This worried me because I was in the middle of my favorite running path which was in the middle of the forest. I decided not to turn back which was a stupid move. The trail was getting really wet and slippery. I was praying to God for strength but I kept getting weaker and weaker which is not a surprise because I was running, hahaha. After a while my pace rapidly declined because of the terrain and from exhaustion. I started to scream to God " Give me strength". I felt God say to me " Give me Everything". So I quickened my pace but soon after I slowed back down to a pathetic pace. I kept feeling "Give me Everything, GIVE ME EVERYTHING". So turned on my ipod that I use for a timer but I thought I needed to not listen to my body and just run, the song that came on was With Everything by Hillsong United.

I was going for the runners high where the mind shuts off the pain receptors because it does not want to feel anymore, it feels so great! I kept playing that song over and over again, my body was telling me to stop but I just told it to shut up! GIVE ME EVERYTHING GIVE ME EVERYTHING!! I finally came to famous hill, we runners called it "Suicide Hill" From where I was to the top of the Hill was 1,000 meters with a high incline. It breaks most runners but I was not going to let it break me. I said to God " This is it!" With Everything in my mind I ran up the hill as fast as my weak tired body would go. I was gulping in air, every step hurt more than the last. GIVE ME EVERYTHING GIVE ME EVERYTHING!! I kept running and I started to scream the song "WITH EVERYTHING WITH EVERYTHING WE WILL SHOUT FOR YOUR GLORY WE WILL SHOUT FOR YOUR PRAISE OOOOOOOooooooOOOOOOOO! My mind let go and the runners high came and I was praising God that he gave me the strength to run up suicide hill. I got to the top and looked at the beauty of the world. From hardship comes great reward- Some dude! Now the fun part of the run was running down the hill.   That is my greatest encounter with God.
